Northern Region Associates’ Collection Campaign Benefits United Way

Given the economic challenges facing many in the northern region area, local ONB associates decided to focus their efforts on those community members whose needs were greater than their own.

So, in lieu of the holiday gifts for their courier clients, a contribution to the United Way of Elkhart and St. Joseph Counties was made in their honor.  And it was requested that these funds be directed to the local agencies that distribute food to those in need.

Their clients, along with northern region associates, were also invited to join in this effort.  In December, approximately 100 special donation canisters were displayed in each of their respective offices. The collected donations were pooled with the initial contribution, and more than $4,475 was collected.

“The holidays have most likely depleted the shelves of many local food pantries, and this donation will help replenish their supplies for 2009,” said Dan Doan, Northern Region CEO.  “As community leaders, it is our responsibility to support the needs of our local friends and neighbors, and we are extremely pleased to make these contributions on behalf of our clients and Old National Bank.”

Alex Strati, Northern Region Market President and current fundraising chairman for the United Way of Elkhart County said, “These agencies rely so much on the generosity of both individual and corporate donors. To be in the position to help during this tough economy is truly rewarding.”
