Old National receives top ratings from bank research firm and national magazineBauer Financial, a prominent independent bank rating and research firm, has just released its bank ratings based on December 31, 2008 financial data. Old National Bancorp was rated a 4-Star (or “excellent”) institution on a scale of 0 to 5. The 4-star rating places Old National on Bauer Financial’s list of “Recommended Banks, Savings Banks & Thrifts.” It also indicates that our company is “safe, financially sound and is operating well above its regulatory capital requirements.” Read more about Bauer Financial’s bank rating system. In addition, Old National was ranked #28 out of the top 150 banks and thrifts in the nation in the 2008 Bank Performance Scorecard by Bank Director Magazine. The ranking compares to Old National’s 106th place ranking last year and its 128th place ranking the year before. ONB was the highest ranked Indiana bank. The financial institutions were assessed on profitability, capital adequacy and asset quality.
