Jimi Kim, Financial Advisor, VP
Old National Investments
Why I work for Old National. . .
At age 13, Jimi Kim came from Korea to the United States with his family. His father was a diplomat and the family eventually returned to Korea, but Jimi stayed and pursued his education. He graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, with a bachelor’s degree in marketing and advertising. He also earned his master’s degree in international management from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota.
In 2009, Jimi was working in Indianapolis, Indiana, for a company that establishes investment programs in community banks, when he received the call that would bring him to Old National. Old National Investments was looking for advisors in the Indianapolis area. Would he be interested?
Says Jimi, “I knew Old National had been around for a long time and has a solid brokerage program. They can compete with the bigger banks and could provide greater potential for me.” After interviewing for the position, Jimi felt a career move to Old National would be the right one.
He joined Old National Investments in April of 2009 as a financial advisor and has been pleased with that decision. “It’s a very well-run organization. They try to do things the right way and take a longer-term vision,” Jimi says. “The people are great and there isn’t a high turnover. That says a lot about a company.”
Jimi also appreciates that Old National encourages community involvement, which provides networking opportunities for him. A soccer player in high school and college, Jimi devotes much time to coaching the Carmel United Soccer Club in Carmel, Indiana.
“Old National gives people the tools and opportunities to be successful,” he concludes. “It’s a good place to be for those wanting to work in the banking and financial industry.”
