Northeast Region Community Causes

Veterans' program wins award; Award money supports high school band.

Old National associates present a check to the Winchester Community High School Band Director.

Old National associates in the company's Northeast Region joined together to support a special cause in early 2012. Banking centers located in Winchester, Losantville, Farmland and Richmond, Ind., partnered with local radio station, JOY FM, to support "Buy a Meal for a Veteran." Old National banking centers served as collection sites for listeners donating gift cards. At the end of the campaign, over $500 in gift cards was collected and given to the ministry to distribute to the veterans.

As a result of their efforts, the Northeast Region earned the Old National Community Team Award for the second quarter of 2012. They then used their $500 Community Team Award to help local high school students participate in band and make the trip of a lifetime.

Their $500 donation to the Winchester Community High School Band Aides fund helped to cover the cost of the students' trip to Philadelphia where they marched in a prestigious holiday parade.

"The staff agreed that band teaches a variety of life skills such as discipline, patience, focus, commitment, team work, communication and camaraderie, just to name a few," said Linda Brown, Banking Center Manager. "It provides students with a set of talents that you cannot put a price on."
