Hi. Miles again, today with a story about how our clients' passions become our passions...and help transform the communities we serve.

Let me introduce you to Old National ACE, our Associate Community Engagement team along with members of our Women LEAD group. LEAD is an acronym for “Leading”, “Empowering”, “Affirming”, and “Developing.” These associates are advocates for matters important to women.

So, when Rosemary Jackson, an Assistant Banking Center Manager in Indianapolis, met with her client Chelsea Marburger, she saw an opportunity. Chelsea is the founder of a nonprofit organization called “Project Purse Indianapolis.”

It all starts with a purse. Project Purse hosts Reverse Purse Parties where guests donate handbags for women in need, rather than purchasing another for themselves. They also sponsor collections of new and gently used purses at businesses and churches.

Rosemary, along with her associates were inspired and saw an opportunity to take part in an initiative to help women regain control through something as basic but essential as a new handbag.

You can easily see why Old National supports Project Purse – recruiting volunteers, setting up collection boxes at banking centers and encouraging everyone to get behind this worthwhile cause.

Experience banking with heart

It's about supporting communities and caring for people. Taking time to listen. Understanding goals and finding solutions to help reach them. Building personal connections that last a lifetime. Want to experience banking with heart? Call us at 1-800-731-2265, visit a banking center or email us. We would welcome the opportunity to talk with you!

As a recipient opens her purse, you can see that not only is it providing important necessities, it also provides her with a feeling of empowerment delivered with a bit of style. And spirits lift even higher when she discovers the note. For within each purse is a handwritten message of encouragement to bring a bit of hope into what could otherwise be a hopeless situation.

This is the kind of outreach we, at Old National, live for. We want our reach to go far beyond the walls of our banking centers and into the communities we serve and live in. Leading, Empowering, Affirming and Developing. This is what being a community bank is all about. It's about banking...with heart – it's personal and undeniably human.
