Indianapolis, Ind. (April 26, 2017) – During a midday ceremony, Kendra Vanzo – EVP, Associate Engagement and Integration for Old National Bank – was honored as one of two recipients of the 2017 Ogletree Deakins Human Resources Professional of the Year award. This state-wide honor, awarded annually by the Indiana Chamber during its Human Resources Conference & Expo Awards Luncheon, recognizes the recipient’s high moral and ethical standing and significant contributions to his/her organization’s human resources function.
A native of Taylorville, Ill., Vanzo joined Old National in 1994. Currently she serves as a member of Old National’s senior-most leadership group while directing the company’s Human Resources, Training and Integration departments. She also provides critical leadership to the company’s Diversity & Inclusion and Work Life teams.
Vanzo was also instrumental in launching a comprehensive wellness program at Old National. This dynamic, prevention-focused program enables associates to take advantage of resources, tools and challenges designed to promote a healthier lifestyle. In 2014, this program earned the Three Star recognition level of “Achieve WELL” of the Wellness Council of Indiana.
“Kendra’s dedication to Old National’s vision and values, and passion for servant leadership, are without parallel,” said Bob Jones, Chairman & CEO. “Because of her deep humility, she prefers to give all the credit to her team and acknowledge all they do to advance her vision for Old National, but the reality is her strong vision and selfless approach to leadership are crucial to our success.”
Vanzo earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Marketing) from the University of Illinois, and an MBA from the University of Southern Indiana. An active community volunteer, she is past board president of the Arts Council of Southwest Indiana, and past board vice-president for Tales & Scales.
