JAMES A. SANDGREN

James “Jim” A. Sandgren is Chief Executive Officer of Commercial Banking at Old National. Prior to the merger with First Midwest in 2022, he was President and Chief Operating Officer at Old National. Jim has held several executive leadership positions during his 30-year career at Old National, including Southern Region CEO. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from DePauw University and is an honors graduate of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking. He also holds Credit Risk Certification from the Risk Management Association. Jim is the current Board Chair for Ascension/St. Vincent-Evansville. He is also a Board Member (past President) of the YMCA of Southwestern Indiana, University of Southern Indiana Foundation, Southwest Indiana Chamber (past Board President), the Indiana High School Athletic Association Foundation (Treasurer) and Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center, where he served as Board President and Chairman of the Easter Seals “Ensure the Future” capital campaign. Jim is also the current Tocqueville Society Campaign Chair, and past Community Campaign Chair, for the United Way of Southwestern Indiana.
