Kathy A. Schoettlin is Chief Communications, Culture and Social Responsibility Officer for Old National. Prior to the merger with First Midwest in 2022, she was Chief Brand & Culture Officer at Old National. Kathy has served in several leadership roles at Old National since joining the Company in 2005, including Chief Cultural Officer and Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, Director of Marketing and Communications and Director of Public Relations. Prior to joining Old National, she served for 15 years as Public Relations Director at the Southwestern Indiana Chapter of the American Red Cross. Kathy earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Southern Indiana. Over the course of her career, Kathy has received several recognitions for her work in the community and in mentoring others. She was recognized as one of BankBeat magazine's 2020 “Outstanding Women in Banking," and in 2019, she was honored as Indiana Bankers Association's Woman of the Year and in 2015, she was the recipient of the Torchbearer Award, which recognizes women of Indiana who have been pioneers throughout their lives or who have stepped forward as leaders by breaking down barriers. Kathy was also named Big Sister of the Year by Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ohio Valley in 2011 and was the 2010 recipient of the ATHENA Award, which is presented annually in Southern Indiana and honors a professional woman who has inspired and impacted others as a mentor and who faithfully and passionately serves her community. She has also been an honoree of the Evansville YWCA's 100 Years, 100 Women in 2011 and featured as one of Diversity Journal’s 2014 Women Worth Watching. Kathy is a passionate community leader. Her current civic and volunteer activities include serving as past president of the Board of Directors for Junior Achievement of Southwestern Indiana and Board Member for Southwestern Foundation’s Friends of Mental Health and the Indiana Youth Institute. She also serves on the Tomorrow’s Workforce Committee for Mater Dei and Memorial High Schools and also served on the executive advisory committee of the COVID-19 Crisis Response Fund of the Greater Evansville Region.
