For Jeff Boudreau, Community Market Manager at Old

For Jeff Boudreau, Community Market Manager at Old National, becoming a Marine was never a question – it was a calling from an early age. Before he was even a teenager, he knew his future would include military service. Years later, when his time in the Marines ended, the transition was abrupt. One moment he was receiving discharge orders; the next, he was boarding a plane as a civilian heading home.

Like many veterans, Jeff faced the challenge of redefining his sense of value outside the military. In the service, the unit is everything; your worth is tied to the team. Entering civilian life can feel like losing that identity and purpose.

When Jeff joined Old National, he approached cautiously, trying to make himself as small as possible. But what he found was a culture of trust and support that allowed him to rediscover and embrace the parts of himself he had minimized. In this environment, surrounded by people who care, he experienced something profound: freedom.

“The way it feels to be in an environment where I’m surrounded by people that care about me in a supportive work environment is freedom,” Jeff says.

Helping Others Thrive

Today, Jeff is thriving – and helping others do the same. Through the Military Veterans Impact Network, a team member-led group at Old National dedicated to creating sustainable programs for transitioning veterans and supporting current veteran team members, he works to create a welcoming environment for veterans at Old National and beyond. His passion is clear: removing obstacles to success and empowering veterans to grow.

“What it means to me to be able to reach out, connect with, educate, and empower veterans is everything. That is exactly my why: I seek to remove the obstacles to people’s success.”

Community Partnerships That Make a Difference

The Military Veterans Impact Network doesn’t stop at supporting team members; it extends its reach into the communities we serve. By partnering with local and national organizations, the network amplifies resources for veterans and their families. These partnerships include:

  • Better Together Volunteer Days: Veterans and team members join forces to serve hundreds of nonprofits across multiple states, including organizations dedicated to veteran support.
  • ONB Cares Grants: Funding initiatives that strengthen veteran programs and provide essential services in local communities.
  • Collaborations with Veteran Service Organizations: Working alongside groups that offer education, employment assistance, and mental health resources for transitioning service members.

These efforts reflect Old National’s commitment to creating lasting impact inside and outside the organization while giving veterans opportunities to continue their mission of service.

Veterans don’t stop serving when they leave the military; they simply find new ways to lead. At Old National, Jeff and others continue that mission, making a difference in the workplace and the communities we call home.

This Veterans Day, we honor Jeff and all veterans who continue to serve through leadership, community impact, and the stories that inspire us all.
